Satisfaction

Are we satisfied with the way we live our lives? I look at my own and I would like to do much more than I am now. I am greatful for traveling and meeting fascinating people. Is that enough? I sometimes question many of the things I observe in our society. Despite not having any goals or dreams, some people are satisfied with having very little money and many friends. Is happiness the key to our satisfaction? Why are some people happy and others are miserable? I believe it is related to our thoughts. We need to look at what life has to offer and appreciate the good things in our lives.
Happiness is a state of mind. You can have a nice dinner with your family during the holidays while looking into the eyes of your loved ones as they open their presents with a vivid smiles, but does that make you happy? If you can make someone smile, why don’t you? It doesn’t cost a dime. Honest and sincere appreciation goes a long way and can even help those around you feel more postive about their lives. Shit happens, of course, but it is it is how with deal with that makes you a stronger person.
Am I happy? Well sometimes I am, but certainly not all the time. Most people would dream to do the things I have done in such a young age, but the truth is that it would be nice to share my life with someone. But many people I speak to have a partner and yet they take advantage of them. They end up looking for someone else and eventually get tired of each other. Is that a satisfying life? Jumping from one person to the next? I may be conservative in my views on love, but where are the days where love was expressed through dinner and a movie or a nice walk or a romantic evening out on the town? Britney Spears gets married and a few hours later is divorced. Is that love? Being satisfied with yourself is important and before you come across someone you love, you must be happy and satisfied with yourself.
